To learn how a geode is formed, you must start at the beginning. First you need a hollow rock. That hollow rock has a pocket of air trapped inside, either from volcanic explosion, animal remains or tree roots. Over time, mineral rich water moves its way through the layer of air leaving behind tiny crystals.
There is no easy way of telling what the inside of a geode holds until it is cut open or broken apart. That geode you hold in your hands has had quite the journey. Treasure it for its beauty and uniqueness.
